My approach

I work with individual adults from age 18+.

Psychodynamic counselling/therapy is an opportunity for you to meet at the same time each week with me and talk about whatever you wish to bring. We can think together about your struggles and bring some meaning and understanding to your life; this can help you feel less overwhelmed. It can feel a great relief to share your concerns with a trusted therapist. You don’t have to battle on alone.

Working with me, I can help support you come to terms with issues in your life and enable you to let go of outdated ways of viewing the world and your place in it.

Psychodynamic therapy aims to help you understand yourself more deeply, enabling clearer thinking and a more fulfilling way of living.

Psychodynamic counselling/therapy believes that the early life of the individual profoundly affects development and thus difficulties in adult life can have their origins in the client’s past.

As a Psychodynamic therapist I am interested in the way in which you may find yourself repeating unhelpful patterns of behaviour, eg in relationships, do you always end up with the same unsatisfying outcome? Psychodynamic counselling/therapy can help you to understand what lies behind such patterns so that you can identify when you may be liable to repeat something damaging so that you can make better choices for yourself.
